In co-operation with the firm Virtech AS, Østensjø Rederi, has developed a simulator-based familiarization for their vessel Edda Fauna.
The research has been a collaborative process together with the research department at Stord/Haugesund University College (www.HSH.no). Students from the college, as well as students from Karmsund Technical College, participated in conducting experiment rounds on board the vessel. The preliminary conclusion may indicate that the HSE simulator does a similar job as traditional familiarisation. The result will be available in autumn.
