Østensjø Rederi has, for its newbuild Platform Supply Vessel “Edda Ferd” been nominated for the “Next Generation Ship Award” at the world’s largest shipping convention, Nor-Shipping.
The convention will take place in Oslo in the beginning of June. HRH Crown Prince Haakon will present the award when it is announced at the Opening Conference of Nor-Shipping on June 4th. This nomination is further acknowledgment of “Edda Ferd”, which has already won the prestigious “Environmental Award” at the Offshore Support Journal Conference in London February 2013.
“Edda Ferd” is a result of Østensjø Rederi’s Mindset concept, which is the company’s guideline for future development. The concept has been created to ensure that Østensjø Rederi continues to be at the forefront of technological developments. Upon delivery “Edda Ferd” will be the world’s most environmentally friendly PSV, and will even feature a battery package as part of its propulsion system.
