Østensjø Rederi`s board has appointed Kenneth Walland new Chief Executive Officer for Østensjø Rederi. Walland will assume the new role from 3rd March 2016.

Walland, who currently holds the position as chief operating officer, will take over the role after Johan Rokstad who has led the company for the last eighteen years.

“I have had the pleasure of working with Kenneth since he started in the company in 1994. His extensive knowledge of the company and the maritime business, as well as his abilities as a leader and colleague, will impact the company positively. I can truly say that I am delivering the company over to the best man for the job”, says Johan Rokstad.

“I am humbled to be given this role, but at the same time excited for the opportunity to lead this great company forward. I am fortunate to have a great team of colleagues to help me make the transition a positive one”, says Kenneth Walland.

Kenneth joined the company in 1994 as safety and quality manager and has since then held several managing roles in the company. He is a Master Mariner with additional education in Safety Management from the University of Stavanger. He completed the Maritime Executive program held by the Norwegian Ship owner`s Association and Duke University during 2015/16. His previous experience includes working in the Norwegian merchant fleet, Royal Norwegian Coast Guard and Royal Caribbean Cruises as well as a period as senior engineer at the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate’s Safety Division.

 

Johan Rokstad will take the role as CEO for Edda Accommodation.
