Edda Wind announced today that Kenneth Walland will become their CEO and therefore stepping down as CEO of Østensjø Rederi and Edda Accommodation. Walland will be succeeded by Kristian Helland Vea, an experienced leader who has worked in the industry for 25 years.

Edda Wind is experiencing tremendous growth and is now forming its management organisation. Kenneth Walland has been appointed CEO in Edda Wind, stepping down as CEO of Østensjø Rederi and Edda Accommodation. Walland has been in Østensjø Rederi for close to three decades, whereas the last five years as CEO. He has lead the Company through the roughest of times for the offshore industry and has been part of the start-up and development of Edda Wind.

Vea, who currently holds the position of Chartering Manager Offshore & Towage in the Company, has accepted the role as CEO for Østensjø Rederi. Vea has worked for the Company for four years. Before starting at Østensjø Rederi, he spent 16 years at DOF whereas 10 years as Chartering Manager. He is educated Master Mariner and has extensive experience in the maritime industry.

Vea, being an experienced mariner, spent parts of his early career in the ’90s as an able seaman in Østensjø Rederi.
